The Global Labour Journal (GLJ) invites submissions for an Authors-Meet-Critics panel at the upcoming ISA Forum of Sociology in Porto Alegre, Brazil in July 2020. The panel is being organized by the GLJ and RC44, the Research Committee on Labour Movements. The panel will feature recent books (published since January 2017) on any topic in global labour studies. Given the location of the meeting, we especially welcome books about, or by scholars from, Latin America; however, books on any region or topic will be considered. Books published in languages other than English are also welcomed. The organizers will invite critics to engage with each selected book in the panel. After the panel, reviews of the selected books will be published in a special section of the GLJ. The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2019. Submissions (by the author or others) should include (1) a full reference for the book (including publisher and year of publication), (2) a short paragraph summarizing the book in English, and (3) an electronic copy of the book for review. Nominations should be emailed to Ben Scully at ben.scully@wits.ac.za AND ALSO submitted via the ISA abstract submission system (https://isaconf.confex.com/isaconf/forum2020/cfp.cgi). Please contact ben.scully@wits.ac.za if you have any questions.
